I remember going to my endocrynologist & hearing him say there were a couple of insulin-like-alternatives for type 1 diabetetics available that proved to assist with weight loss. Does anybody take any of these, or does anybody know of any. I’m a 19-yr old type 1 diabetetic looking for insulin-alternative daily injection to be taken WITH my regular insulin.
P.S. I know “Regular excercise & healthy eating” help the most, but that’s not what I’m asking about.
Anyone Know Of An Insulin Designed To Assist With Weight Loss?

Maybe he was talking about Symlin. It is an injection given with insulin and seems to help people with blood sugar control. It also helps some people lose weight.
Here’s an article about it.

WOW! I never heard of these but if you find out PLEASE let me know, I too am a type 1 diabetic currently on a pump and tho I’m not fat I wouldn’t mind losing a bit of weight….and to my knowledge up to now, the more insulin you take the more weight your more likely to put on….like I said if you find out anything good please email me…thanks SO much ♥
