Acupuncture for weight loss is a very good support mechanism and it can also help alleviate hypothyroid symptoms.
It is very important to realize that acupuncture isn’t going to magically make you lose weight. You will still need to exercise and eat healthy. The acupuncture for weight loss helps with appetite control, craving control, and energy levels.

Acupuncture therapy affects the autonomic nervous system and regulates energy metabolism by stimulating the meridians’ qi flow. Acupuncture is often most effective with stubborn stagnation problems in the meridians. It can also prohibit appetite and increase the metabolic rate of obese individuals. Sometimes moxibustion is chosen in conjunction with acupuncture, depending on the physician’s judgment.http://www.shen-nong.com/eng/lifestyles/…

though i have never tried it (i’m scared of all needles) I swear by reiki sessions.
I had problems with my throat throbbing and rapid weight gain. I was frustrated that my levels were not high enough to get me refered to an endocrinologist. reiki has helped me get my energy back and I only crave good foods now. Taking coconut oil also helps jump start your thyroid. Best of luck to you.

Some people swear by it
I knew a woman who’d been obese for decades. She tried acupuncture and lost 40 pounds in less than 6 months.http://www.acufinder.com/Acupuncture+Inf…
