I really want to lose weight before summer is over and i have a gym, but I was just wondering if the treadmill is a good affective way for weight loss. Most of the time I stay on the treadmill for 30-45 mins. For the last ten minuts a increase the elevation to 10 degrees on a speed of 4.5. Is this a good workout?

I have been through it all and know what’s it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can’t be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I’ve worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.
Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.
First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can’t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising…
This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it’s good for the heart.
However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It’s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I’ve found a great addition to help any one out, it’s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don’t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don’t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn’t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It’s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace.com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it’s the best pill I’ve tried and I’ve tried cupboards full. Now this doesn’t mean you have to follow my foot steps but I’ve successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.
Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.

I found having a treadmill to walk or run on was the best way for me to lose weight, as i cant walk the street around here (to many loose dogs) I might come home with some part of me missing hehe)I was 119kg and now i am down to 71kg walking alone dosent help u also have to diet if u give up sugar, salt and butter u will lose weight faster if u add salt to your cooking dont add salt to your eating of your meal, find a margarine that with be of benefit to U and as for sugar u can do without if u really set your mind to it. The saying is Its not what u eat its how much U eat.
best of luck

It’s a good workout, but exercise burns discouragingly few calories. Pair this excellent habit with better eating habits and you should see real improvement.
See if the treadmill program has a way to enter your weight and show calories burned. 3500 calories is one pound. A good hard workout may burn one-seventh of that.

Memes answer is very good
Heres a general idea of effective exercise:
0-10 min start off slowly, gradually build up to pace
10-30- this is when you want to increase elevation, speed whatever
30-45 slow back down, decrease elevation, etc.
When you jump into any workout, it loses its effectiveness.

Yes, but I’d recommend that you switch your elevation/speed increase in the middle of your workout instead of at the end. Towards the end of the workout you should be getting slower and slower to return your body to the state it was in before beginning the workout. Best of luck!
