I’ve always considered getting it done, but it really hasn’t been discussed much with my doctor. I would love it in a way, but then again I kinda just wanna do it on my own.

Just curious if anyone has experienced rapid weight loss after gallbladder surgery? My wife had her operation on removal of her bile duct from the liver and her gallbladder removed around Christmas. She since has been experiencing pain that does not go away and her doctor has found nothing in the blood tests and or physical. But she complains of pain still, and recently she has noticed she has lost weight a rapid pace.
Has anyone experienced this?

2 and a Half years ago I had Lap Band weight loss surgery. It was done by two Docs that had good reputations and after a couple years of research, they were the only ones that took my insurance. They completely screwed up the surgery and I never lost weight, so I didn’t have to tell friends. Only my family knows. Now I am in extream pain and having a surgery to try to repair it. This time I have one of the best Doctors in the world operating on me.
The thing is I don’t want some people to know that I’m having a correction to weight loss surgery. When I had the first surgery, I was riduculed by several people saying that I took the easy way out. Believe me, it hasn’t been easy. I’ve tried every diet in the world plus having a nighmare surgery and months of pain only to be told by those who know that it is my own fault.
It’s going to take several weeks to recover. What do I tell the people that won’t understand, like aquaintences, coworkers, & some of my friends that just don’t get It??

A coworker and I were talking about Richard Simmons and she stated that she had heard that he had some kind of weight loss surgery years ago. I have never heard that, and could not find anything online about it. Does anyone know if this is true?

I have a friend from high school who had the surgery and since she had it 8 months ago her face is more wrinkled and she looks much older than before she lost 100 pounds. I noticed that Star Jones looks so much older now than she did before her weight loss. She doesn’t look good at all. I will say that Al Roker looks no different in the face to me. Maybe it’s just women.

I am 20 years old and I weigh 215lbs and my BMI is calculated to be 38.1. I was wondering if my insurance would cover a type of surgery for weight loss. I have Tricare under my dad’s name, and I was hoping that they would cover a procedure such as the lap band surgery. So if anyone out there knows a answer, please give me one.

I have been approved for weight loss surgery and I have an IUD. I read online that you need to stop taking birth control one week prior to surgery, if that is true, do i need to have it removed. I am asking because Mirena IUD’s have very low estrogen and are very different from conventional methods. IUD’s are too expensive to have removed and then replaced.

My health is getting worse. I have talked to my dr about my weight gain for years and all she says is diet and exercise and as I been seeing her i have crept on another 30 lbs I am fat as ever now and I have tried all diets and now my knees are in pain. She refuses to even entertain the idea of the Weight loss surgery. I am in portland oregon and on I am on the providence personal option. I need a new dr or something. Because I will be 300lbs before long and my dr. will still just say diet and exercise. Hell if it was that easy I’d been done already!! this has been going on three years! I HAVE CUT out all sugar; deep friend foods> she took a thyroid test and it was normal. My family has all been obese I am fight against all odds here and its been very depressing. any serious ideas ? Please don’t beat your drum about diet and exercise and furits and veggies I heard it all and tried it all. How do I get to the steps to have the surgery?

I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE LAP BAND WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY BUT MY INSURANCE DOES NOT COVER IT. I HAVE BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELDS I NEED TO KNOW WHICH COMPANY I SHOULD GET A POLICY FROM TO COVER THR COST OF SURERY.
